The Girne American University (GAU) was founded in 1985 as the first private higher education institution in Kyrenia and recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. The goal of the university since its foundation is to provide comprehensive Higher Education of American standards for students from different nationalities in North Cyprus.

Eastern Mediterranean University was founded in Famagusta at 1979 as Institute of High Technologies. The university is a public educational institution and currently occupies a territory of more than 615 000 sq.m.

The Near East University, established in 1988, is located in Nicosia, capital of North Cyprus, and as an international higher education institution employing highly qualified staff, offers the most extensive undergraduate and postgraduate education opportunities to over 27 thousand students coming from over 102 countries.

The European University of Lefke, founded by the Cyprus Science Foundation, officially started its academic activities in 1990 as a State Foundation University, is one of the most reputable universities in Northern Cyprus. The university is located in a close proximity of Lefke, which thanks to its nature and historical places is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus.

Cyprus International University (CIU) is a private higher education institution. CIU is one of the largest and best universities in North Cyprus. The university campus is located in the capital of Nicosia, 5 km from the city center.

The University of the West of Scotland is one of the largest modern universities in the United Kingdom. The university provides relevant, high quality, inclusive higher education and innovative and useful research.

The University of Kyrenia was founded in 2013 in the city of Kyrenia. The University focused on training in the fields of aviation and maritime affairs. The main goal of the university is to become a leader of higher education in its specializations.

The University of Mediterranean Karpasia (UMK) was Founded in 2012 in Nicosia in close cooperation with Turkish Aviation Association. UMK intends to enhance quality of its education and to educate tolerant, confident and entrepreneurial individuals, equipped with world class professional knowledge, skills and competencies. The objective of the university is to have its students learn scientific knowledge by experimenting as well as testing and researching in addition to using that knowledge in their daily lives.

Cyprus Science University was established in 2013 in Kyrenia city. Following the establishment, the university experienced rapid growth in a short term, receiving the recognition by the ministry of education of North Cyprus, Turkey and abroad.

FINAL INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (FIU) was founded in 2015 in the Kyrenia district of North Cyprus as a partnership between Final Education Institutions, a premier educational brand in Turkey, and the DMG-Akgünler Group, a leading operator in the tourism sector in North Cyprus.

Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC) was established as a result of an invitation conveyed to METU in the year 2000 by the Governments of Republic of Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), with the mission of carrying METU’s educational standards to Northern Cyprus. And now ranked 85th in the world top universities. 

Founded in North Cyprus in 2017, Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) is a thematic art university that is entirely dedicated to the fields of art, design and communication. ARUCAD’s goal is to become one of the most reputable universities in art education. Currently, university offers 7 undergraduate programs under 3 faculties.

American University of Cyprus (AUC) was founded in 2014, in the capital of North Cyprus - Nicosia. The university is a part of the Girne American University (GAU). 

 Bahсesehir Cyprus University (BAU Cyprus University) is established as a member of BAU Global Education Network.
