Cyprus International University Summer Academy 2020

We are glad to inform you that Cyprus International University (CIU) started admission for the summer program "International Summer Academy". This program will be organized in July and August 2020. During the program, students will be able to gain new knowledge in foreign languages, get acquainted with university teachers, with the work of faculties and laboratories, plunge into the history and culture of North Cyprus, have a great time with new friends, visiting local festivals, concerts and excursions with them.

General Information about Summer Academy

Studying programs:

1. General English
2. IELTS preparation
3. ECO Teens

Lesson sessions:

20-22 academic hours per week.

Individual and group students can choose classes in English language (General English) or preparation for IELTS (recommended period of study on the IELTS program is from 3 weeks).

Applications for holding various seminars, trainings, courses related to any university faculty, advanced training courses for professionals, etc. accepted for consideration for group students (from 8 people).

This year, you can also become a member of the brand new ECO TEENS Summer Academy program. In this program, students in English receive theoretical and practical knowledge related to environmental protection, processing and secondary use of various resources, participate in seminars and sustainability workshops.

Dates of arrivals:

This program will be organized in July and August 2020. Arrivals are possible every Saturday and Sunday, starting from 06/27/2020, and until the end of August.  Last intake - 17/08/2020.

Age:

From 8 years * and older (without restrictions). Check-in is possible with parents, as well as adult participants.

* Children under 12 years old are accepted for the program only if accompanied by a group leader or parents.

Accommodation:

Accommodation takes place in student dormitories in rooms for 1/2/3 people; the room has a mini fridge, air conditioning, TV, telephone, cable Internet and a bathroom. Bed linen, pillows provided by the university. Mini soap, mini shower gel, toilet paper are also provided by the university in the early days of arrival. Towels are not provided. (Personal hygiene products and other items can be purchased at the on-campus supermarket or brought with you.) Laundry services are available at an additional cost.

Meal plan:

3 meals a day plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner with a fixed menu in the student cafeteria).

Program cost

Single room - 550 Euro * for two weeks
Double room - 525 Euro * for two weeks
Triple room - 500 Euro * for two weeks
* The price includes: tuition, accommodation, meals, excursions, an entertainment program on campus, gym visits, beach trips, transfers, VAT.
* The price does not include: Air tickets and insurance are not included in the price of the program.
The cost of each additional week: 225 Euro.
Deposit: a refundable deposit of 150 euro is paid in cash by each student upon arrival. Refund of the deposit is carried out on the last day of the program after the control of the room by the dormitory staff.

The content of the activities during summer program

During the program, excursions to cities and historical places of the island, trips to the beach, activities on campus, visits to the sports center on campus, activities  off campus* will be organized for students.

• Horse riding, visiting the stable * (available on certain days)
• Salsa Evening
• Cinema off campus * for an additional fee (4-5 euro)
• Karaoke
• Bowling * for an additional fee (3-5 euro per game)
• Yacht tour * on request, for an additional fee (16-20 euro, including lunch on a yacht)
• Carting * for an additional fee (7-9 euro for 10 minutes)
• Bubble ball for an additional fee (5-7 euro per game)
• Souvenir tour
• Farewell Party
• The use of sun beds on some beaches is paid, 1-2 euro for a sun bed for the whole day

Visa

A visa is obtained upon arrival at the airport of North Cyprus Ercan (airport code ECN) for free from 30 to 90 days with an invitation from the university. You do not need to get a visa in advance. If necessary you can apply for Transit Visa in nearest Turkish Embassy.
